Activision's Skiing will have you weaving down a snowy hill as you compete in downhill and slalom runs. Your skier begins each race at the top of the screen, and the goal is to keep moving down the slope until you cross the finish line.
The two events will differ in how you accomplish this. Slalom involves steering through a specific number of gates on one of five courses, and downhill involves negotiating trees and moguls to complete one of five courses in the fastest time possible.
A clock will begin ticking the moment you start moving, and for every gate you miss or tree you hit, an additional five seconds will appear on the clock. The number of gates you'll need to cross in the slalom run depends on the level, which also affects how challenging the course is.
Downhill runs also vary in difficulty, from the 200-meter Novice Hill to the 900-meter Olympic Hill. Both events also feature one random course each time you turn on the console.
While your skier automatically jumps over moguls during the downhill event, you have the option to jump manually by switching the right difficulty switch to the 'A' position.
